Heather’s Kids began back in summer of 1999 when Heather received her first Saanen doe through the Cattaraugus County 4-H Goat Lottery. Dutchess was the foundation of everything that is in the pens today and the years have only improved these Saanens. Cattaraugus County Fair is where she showed for the majority of her time, but lately has attended the Erie County Fair in Hamburg and the NY State Fair last year. She has won many showmanship classes and her does have been chosen as Grand and Reserve Champions and Junior and Res Junior Champions as well as the best udder of breed. Rizzo and Taz were awarded 1st place Dam and Daughter at the youth show at the state fair and Margarita was chosen as Reserve Junior Champion. James received one of the doelings in the summer of 2004 as a part of continuing the Goat Lottery program. He really seems to enjoy the goats but doesn’t like showing as much as his sister. His yearling milker was awarded 3rd best udder of breed behind Heather’s does which was quite an accomplishment after only a few years in the program. We expect good things from his does.
