WOW! What a summer 2009!  The show season has end we are counting up our ribbons, We finished Lady, Lacey's 6 year old doe Nubian we also finished Brooke's Nubian Buck Vinnie.  Lacey's Tog Doe Jose has earned 2 legs this year.

We did very well at the Genesee County Fall Classic

Lacey is holding her Grand Champion Doe. Heather is holding Brooke's Reserve Champion Doe & Brooke is holding her full sister who was the Junior Champion Doe;
Nathan had the Reserve Jr. Champion Alpine
AND
Lacey & Brooke Placed 1st & 2nd in the Junior Showmanship class!

How it all started: Becky of Beca's Sunybrook gave Brooke a Nubian Doe, Brooke then decided she needed more goats, thus purchased 2 more and received a 3rd doe as a Christmas gift. Boo's Zoo was created. She has a zoo between her goats, Jerseys, Holsteins, Rabbits, & Market Pigs she has a huge collection. She is developing quite a show herd.  She did very well showing last year winning most of her showmanship classes, also Jr. & Reserve Jr. Champion at the county fair.   She also won 1st place in the intermediate doe class at the Erie County Fair.

Then her cousin Sarah decided she needed goats too.  She didn't like those floppy eared goats Brooke had so she talked her mom into buying her a Lamancha at the State Fair.  Sarah is the S in Ready SET Goats.  her siblings are Erika & Ted finish it out)  When we had trouble getting her bred her mom got worried thus purchased a 2nd doe for her.  Since she doesn't have a barn at her house (someday her dad who builds barns will build her one) they live with Brooke's goats.  Beca's Sunybrook is the oldest goat herd of the group, she moved her Nubians to our barn this winter to make milking the whole group easier.  When the goal was set to produce more milk to sell she decided to expand with Toggenburgs.  We are working on developing a soap, fudge & cheese market.

Then came Nathan.  He wasn't happy when the grade doe I purchased for him a few years ago had a single buck. He needed a doeling to show.  Becky tried to give him one of the Nubian Quads, (3 very cute little does & a little buck)  he wanted nothing to do with the floppy eared goats. So Dinonate became the home of registered Alpines with the pointy ears he likes.

I know we are missing a few breeds, Heather had Saanens just around the corner, they have now moved to the barn... we still have Erika - remember that doeling Nathan refused? it's now Erika's and doing quite well. Ted hasn't establish his bred of animals, he does like pointy ear goats who knows maybe we can collect them all!
